Air handling heat recovery units are a modern way to ensure healthy air in your home and save money at the same time. These systems not only purify the air, but also use heat efficiently, minimizing heating and cooling costs. Thanks to them, you can enjoy fresh air while saving energy in your everyday life.
That sounds great, doesn’t it? Let’s talk more about air recuperation units and find out how they actually work. But let’s start first.
What is recuperation?
Heat recovery is the process of using the energy and heat from the exhaust air to pre-heat or pre-cool the incoming new air. This means that heat that would otherwise have gone to the outside environment is used to heat the air entering the building. This minimises heat loss and reduces energy costs by making sensible use of existing heat. Heat recovery contributes to a more efficient use of energy and improves indoor air quality.
This continuous air exchange is carried out by means of a ventilation unit with heat recovery. These are called air heat recovery units. How do they work and why should you reach for one?
How do air recuperation units work?
The role of heat recovery units is to transfer the heat energy from the outgoing air to the incoming air. This process takes place in a so-called heat exchanger, which consists of heat exchange plates. Both hot and cold air flows between them, with the outgoing and incoming air streams separated. This eliminates the risk of them mixing, which could lead to unpleasant odours and other problems.
The efficiency of the whole process ranges from 80 to 95%. Since in many cases the supply air still needs to be heated to the required temperature, electric or hot-water heaters are also used, either as part of the air handling system or fitted directly into the ductwork that supplies the air.
Using heat recovery units therefore leads to better indoor environmental quality, healthier indoor air, lower humidity in your home and, last but not least, lower energy costs.
Air quality matters to us
We spend most of our time inside. At home or at work. That’s why air quality in these buildings is our priority. Installing heat recovery units is the first step towards healthier air and a more pleasant environment in your home or business.
That is why we offer both basic types of heat recovery units – central and decentral. While the former are located in one place and provide air recuperation for several rooms in the building, they are larger and more powerful, decentral ones are located closer to the place of use, often individual rooms or close to them. Decentral units operate independently and recover air only for a specific area.
When we look at heat recovery exchangers, there are several of them – plate, counterflow, rotary or enthalpy.
Our experienced team can help you choose the right air handling unit. We’ll take your needs into consideration and make sure the installation is quick and hassle-free with trouble-free functionality. Don’t hesitate to contact us and enjoy a healthy indoor environment.
